    Obama still owes Jesse Jackson

    Posted by: Andoni

Factoring in yesterday's results from Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington, and the Virgin Islands and using the current proportional delegate assignments, according to CNN Barack Obama now leads Hillary Clinton in pledged delegates 921 to 885. I included the three delegates Obama won from the Virgin Islands, which at this point CNN does not have listed on their web page.

If Jesse Jackson in 1988 had not forced the party to switch to proportional delegate assignments, even after four stunning wins yesterday, Obama would still be losing to Clinton by over 250 pledged delegates.
