You can't go back in time
Posted by: Andoni
One of the sincerest reasons I hear from friends who
support Hillary Clinton is that they want to go back to those “good times” of
the 90’s. I’m not sure exactly what they mean by that because I remember both
good times and bad times from the '90s.
But for argument’s sake, let’s say that the 90’s
were good times.
The way to un-hypnotize yourself from this kind of
thinking is to remember other “good times” in your life, say a great meal,
wonderful sex, the perfect vacation, a raft ride down a river, a special moment
in a special place with a special person. Have you ever gone back and tried to
recreate any of those "great times"? It simply can’t be done. You can never recapture that magic from the "first time." Trying to
recreate wonderful things from the past never, ever lives up to expectations. It's never the same.
The only “great times” that you can create are new “great
times” -- not the old “great times.”
Therefore the question in this election is do we
want to set our compass to try to go backwards or do we as a country want to move
forward? It’s as simple as that.
